Simply, Matt
Matt grew up in the City of Jeffersonville, and is a life-long member of New Chapel United Methodist Church. He and his wife Kelly live in the Wathen Heights neighborhood with their two kids, Luke and Ali. Matt was elected to his first term on the Jeffersonville City Council just weeks after his 21st birthday, making him the youngest ever elected to the position. He is a 2009 graduate of Jeffersonville High School, and studied political science at Indiana University Southeast. Matt is a certified emergency medical technician and currently works as an Assistant Chief with New Chapel EMS, a local non-profit ambulance service which serves Clark and Floyd Counties.
Matt's consistent commitment to the community is unquestionable. In addition to working on the City Council and at New Chapel EMS, Matt dedicates much of his time volunteering in multiple ways throughout the community. Matt volunteers as a firefighter and investigator with the Utica Volunteer Fire Dept, is the past-financial secretary for his church, served 8 years as President of the Clark Co. Sheriff Merit Board, and has sat on the Business Development Committee with the Jeff Mainstreet Association.
